MyCom 2016 Annual Event: Making Connections

Thank you to all of our partners and attendees from the

2016 MyCom Annual Meeting!

Over 250 guests celebrated MyCom’s 2015 accomplishments and recognized the top corporate partners of the True2U Mentoring initiative, including Lubrizol, Medical Mutual, KeyBank, Greater Cleveland Partnership, the Northeast Ohio Faith-Based Collaborative, and Sherwin-Williams.

CLEVELAND, OH: On Friday, May 13, 2016, MyCom held its 2016 Annual Meeting: Making Connections at Windows on the River. This event included keynote speaker, Stedman Graham whose message of “you have to WANT TO” resonated with the cross-section of community leaders and youth in attendance.

The testimonials from True2U mentor Matt Dudas, Global Market Segment Manager-Performance Textiles at The Lubrizol Corporation and Cleveland Metropolitan School District 8th grader, Constance Sanders from East Clark Elementary School spoke to the powerful impact the innovative mentoring initiative is having on both the mentors and the mentees.

True2U Mentoring is a MyCom program supported by The Cleveland Foundation, Greater Cleveland Partnership, and the State of Ohio’s Community Connectors’ initiative. It matches adult mentors with small groups of 8th grade students for career exploration, goal-setting, and planning related to high school and postsecondary education.

The Annual Meeting also recognized six corporations and community organizations with the most employees volunteering with the True2U program: Lubrizol, the Northeast Ohio Faith-Based Collaborative, Medical Mutual, KeyBank, Greater Cleveland Partnership, and Sherwin-Williams.
